What products you use on your hair can make a huge difference, but the largest factor in your hairs health is your diet. So let's step out of the salon and into the grocery store.
Hair and nails grow between .20 - .50 of an inch every month, to will get maximum growth if you change your diet.
Diet
A proper diet can change your hair growth, but not change your hair. It will not make it thicker or more full it will just make it grow faster and be more. I know what you're thinking, what do I need to eat to make my hair grow faster; the answer is simple iron and omega proteins.
Food for Thought
So here are a few foods to give you healthy hair.
Salmon or Mackerel
Salmon and mackerel are loaded with healthy omega 3's, vitamin B-12 and iron. These fatty acids will help your hair become healthier and grow faster. They also help make your scalp and skin healthier as well by deep hydrating. If you don't like fish 6 teaspoons of ground flaxseed mixed in with your food will do the trick.
Dark Green Vegetables
Spinach, broccoli and greens are packed with vitamins A and C which help balance out the natural oils in your hair and scalp. These veggies also have high amounts of iron and calcium, the best way to prepare them is to steam them. It preserves the natural vitamins and minerals in them.
Legumes and Beans
Kidney beans, lentils, black beans should be a balanced part of your healthy hair diet. They are full of proteins, iron, zinc and biotin. I know most of you don't know what biotin is so I will explain it in a little more detail. Biotin helps fortify your hair, if your biotin levels are low it can cause you to have weak hair.
And finally,
Blueberries
I don't know about you but I love blueberries. They are full of vitamin C and calcium and omega fatty acids, and they go great with ice cream!
Eating these foods will help you gain control of your hair by balancing out the natural oils, adding must have vitamins and omega proteins which your hair has to have to be healthy.
If you eat these foods it will really help in giving your hair the boost it needs. If you don't like any of the foods I mentioned you can turn to products to get healthy hair. I would recommend the foods first, but if you have no choice there are healthy hair products out there. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Amy_B_Jones |
