Quinoa - The Super Grain

Don't be frightened by its massive size, Quinoa, the super grain, is a lot simpler to understand than you think. First off, Quinoa is a grain which is referred often as the mother grain. This grain started off as a seed and throughout time, it has morphed into more. With the crunchy texture and nutty flavor this grain has been used for many years. There are many ways you are able to use this super grain to your everyday cooking. Quinoa was once the Incas' source of worship. The Incas believed that the Quinoa was above other grains and was a "god" so to speak. The Inca armies survived on this wonder grain during times of war. Giving their armies the nutrition which was required in war times was the Incas' main focus.
Quinoa is a leafy grain and not the same as other grains which are a grass grain. This grain has a quality to it that at first bite is bitter and not pleasurable to eat, but at second taste after cooking, it compliments any meal you are cooking with. For years the super grain has been used in cooking for its superior nutritional value it stores. Quinoa is special because it cannot be grown below an altitude of 10,000 feet. This is mainly the reason why there are not many areas which this wonder grain can be grown.
Whether you are a novice chef or an experienced one, Quinoa offers many nutritious additives to your cooking. This grain is simple to prepare. Cooked like ordinary rice, this super grain offers more to the average meal. With the nutritional value up and the taste of nuts, there is no wonder why this grain has been superior to other nuts in its family. With the addition of dietary fiber, this super grain is superior over all grains to the extent that there are many other grains that carry nutritional value. None are superior to Quinoa.
